Tremblers of Sevens is two people who sound like ten. They mine everything from traditional blues, devotional gospel, meditative Turkish delights, and klezmer nuptial nights, then plug it in, crank it up loud and hammer the material out over melodic and dynamic drums. The result is heavy, groovy songs that take you somewhere familiar that you’ve never actually been.

WISE: guitars, vocals

RAD: drums

Aleppo

by Tremblers of Sevens

Simultaneously a blistering reminder of the ongoing conflict in Syria and a twisting, audible psychedelic trip, Aleppo is 8 tracks of electric klezmer and desert doom blues, linked together by samples of buskers, street life and calls to prayer. The album was recorded in one session with minimal overdubs. Of Aleppo, David Morrision, writing for Folk Radio UK said, “this is as raw, as vital, as real, and as punk as it gets. “

Tremblers of Sevens are proudly donating all of the proceeds from digital sales of Aleppo to Doctors Without Borders. follow the LISTEN link on our homepage to contribute!

“We included the calls to prayer and the sounds of buskers between Yiddish, Middle Eastern and Western spirituals because all blues are the same blues, regardless of geographic location. Music is our common language, and as long as we can hear each other we can transcend all of the boundaries and borders that get used as excuses to alienate us from our fellow humans.”

Shadow Houses

by Tremblers of Sevens

Tremblers of Sevens are proud to present their sophomore release, Shadow Houses. This album takes a stack of references out of the world-wide musical library, makes them listen to Black Sabbath and shotgun a few pilsners. Picking up where Aleppo left off, Shadow Houses contains two original compositions plus six bombastic sonic reinterpretations from sources as diverse as Jerusalem, the Warsaw Ghetto, Romania, Gypsy Klezmorim, American dirge merchants and Scottish troubadors. Tremblers also called in the sonic talents of local Victoria heavyweights Daniel Lapp, Jody Johnson, Danuel Tate and Richard Moody to help flesh out the sound of the original tunes, adding more layers, more delay, and more magic.

They Called it "the Haymaker"

by Tremblers of Sevens

During the first lockdown back in May 2020, all of our musical work evaporated. This also obviously happened to the techs in our community. We gathered up our gear and pent up energies, and set up in Myke Hall's studio with video wizard Darcy Beck. Both of these men spend most of their lives on the road and were now grounded, with an entire season of cancelled gigs before them....

We set to work and laid down these two blistering covers while the tape and cameras rolled. It seemed crazy to make a product for an industry frozen in its steps, but we all love to work and needed an outlet.

Local artist Ricky Long agreed to donate the cover art, then we smashed our piggy banks and made a 45rpm 7" single happen.

We are putting our money where our mouth is and donating all of the profits from this single to Doctors Without Borders; we need people like them now in this world, more than ever. please help us to support them by supporting the release of "They Called it The Haymaker."
